Text Description of School
Founded in 1856,Newberry College, a coeducational undergraduate college of the liberal arts and sciences, is a residential learning community dedicated to the intellectual and personal development of its students in a caring and supportive academic environment. Owned and in part supported by the South Carolina, Southeastern, Florida/Bahamas and Caribbean Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the college enrolls a small but diverse student body hailing predominantly from the southeastern United States.
